Pipeline
Route Surveys
Watson Company Inc. has extensive experience in
conducting geophysical pipeline route surveys in Cook Inlet, Aleutian
Islands, and in the Beaufort Sea. These offshore surveys generally
include the investigation of the conditions on the seafloor and in the shallow sub-bottom for geologic or man made materials that would affect
offshore pipeline design, installation or operations. The pipeline route
data meets the
requirements for obtaining OCS, State, NPDES or other permits. Pipeline
route surveys generally include the use of the following suite of
equipment: full spectrum sub-bottom profiler, medium penetration source, multi-channel streamer, side scan sonar, multi-beam and single-beam bathymetric sounders.
Mobile
Drilling Platform Site Assessments
Watson Company Inc. has preformed numerous geohazard and site assessment programs for
drilling locations in the Beaufort Sea and in Upper and Lower Cook Inlet,
Alaska. Conducted data acquisition and reporting, including; project
management, planning, mobilization, survey
layout and survey execution. Site assessment surveys include the collection of intermediate and shallow seismic
data utilizing digital seismic techniques to investigate shallow gas and
other potential hazards to depths of 5,000 feet. Processing of sonar imagery
from prospective drilling locations with the Watson Geophysical Mapping
System to delineate seafloor hazards such as bedforms and boulders.
Presentation of final reports to meet OCS and State of Alaska permitting
requirements.
Bottom
Founded Structure Geophysical Survey for
Offshore Developments
Performed site clearance and site assessment programs in the ice effected
waters of the Beaufort Sea, Alaska.
Conducted data acquisition and reporting, including; project management, planning,
mobilization, survey layout and survey execution. Collection of
intermediate and shallow seismic data utilizing digital seismic techniques
to investigate potential for shallow gas and other hazards to depths of
5,000 feet. Seafloor mosaics electronically generated for continuous data areas. Presentation
of data and final reports to government
agencies on behalf of client to facilitate
permitting efforts.
Offshore
Island
Site Assessment
Site clearance geophysical data acquisition program to provide client with
information to determine site feasibility for Offshore Arctic Island
construction. Geophysical data acquisition program including;
project management, planning,
mobilization, survey layout and survey execution. Collection of intermediate
and shallow seismic data utilizing digital CDP seismic techniques. Processing
of sonar imagery with WGMS to delineate seafloor features such as boulders
and seafloor material types. Seafloor mosaics generated to provide
engineers with site specific information of the potential site location.
Outfall
Surveys
Side
Scan Sonar and bathymetric seafloor mapping of outfall areas. Survey
diffuser and accumulation region to
monitor outfall in steep and complex geology. Utilize precision navigation
system to allow geocoding of digital side scan sonar and bathymetry.
Developed 3-dimensional models by warping sonar imagery over a bathymetric
grid of seafloor region to characterize area.
